Monthly Town Board Meetings are open to the public. Meetings are scheduled every second Wednesday of each month in 2008 and start at 7pm.

This year the meeting dates are: 1/9, 2/13, 3/19, 4/9, 5/14, 6/11, 7/9, 8/13, 9/10, 10/8, 11/12, and 12/10.

Dean R. Kennedy, Town Board Member

Dean resides on Thrush Terrace with his wife Deborah and daughter Michelle. He is a 1975 graduate of Rensselaer High School and of Hudson Valley Community College. Dean has been on the Town Board since 2002 and is employed as a Traffic Supervisor with the NYS Thruway Authority since 1991.

Phil Danaher, Town Board Member

First elected in 2003, Board member Phil Danaher is in his second term. A Town resident since 1965, Phil, along with his wife, Laurie, and their children, Jared and Brynna, are very active in our community. He is a graduate of Siena College and Albany Law School and maintains a law practice here in Southern Rensselaer County. Phil has an extensive background in municipal law and planning, and currently utilizes his years of experience as a CYO Basketball and Little League Baseball coach by serving as the Town Board Liaison to the Parks and Recreation Committee.

Michael Cristo, Town Board Member

Michael Cristo is a lifelong resident of the Town of East Greenbush graduating from Columbia High School in 1984. He received his bachelors degree from Siena College in 1990 and is the owner of a family Demolition business that has been in operation in Rensselaer County since 1922. He built a home here in 1991 where he lives with his wife Karen and two daughters, Ciara 14 and Sabrina 11.

Rick Matters, Town Board Member

Rick Matters was elected town councilman on November 6, 2007, and assumed office on January 1, 2008. Rick has been designated board liaison for the following departments: Animal Control, Bruen Rescue, county Industrial Development Agency, Library, and Town Clerk. A town resident for 24 years and a county resident for over 40 years, Rick is a real estate specialist with the state Thruway Authority. Rick is an honors graduate of Russell Sage College with a B.S. in public administration; a life member of the National Eagle Scout Association; a member of the Rensselaer Elks; and a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Squadron No. 1231 in Clinton Heights. He and his wife, Mary Ann, live on Bonnie Court.

History of East Greenbush

The history of the Town of East Greenbush dates back to 1628 when historians believe the first settlers arrived in the area. Today, East Greenbush has retained its small-town roots, while also serving as an important suburb of the City of Albany and home to many retail, corporate, and manufacturing businesses.
