altFrom the desk of:

        Keith A. Langley, Supervisor

                               Town of East Greenbush

It is a pleasure to be addressing you upon the completion of my first month in office. I am working with the Members of the Town Board to reduce the deficit and to economize as much as possible.

The Citizens Advisory Committee on Finance (CFAC) has been reinvigorated with new members. I attended their first meeting and I am excited about seeing the results of the work they have committed to.  Their advice will very valuable to us all on our journey to financial stability. For a list of the CFAC public meetings or the names of the new members, please visit eastgreenbush.org or contact my office at 477-4775.

The Parks Task Force has been appointed and while their work will be conducted under necessary fiscal constraints, we can all look forward to their input on the future of our Parks.

I would like to extend a special thanks to the volunteer members of CFAC and the Parks Task Force.

January was a busy month for the East Greenbush Police Department. A missing local teen was reunited with her family after police, search & rescue and other police agencies assisted in locating her. Another investigation was closed by the arrest of three defendants for the larceny of a pocketbook containing over $9000 from a woman at a local grocery store. The Police are cautioning residents to take great care with their handbags and personal belongings while shopping.

Congratulations to the Town Hall employees who wore red on Friday, February 3 and collected $150 for the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign. I would like to recognize Kim Carlock, Deputy Town Clerk, for leading the effort.

Work continues on refinements for the new system at the Transfer Station.  The suggestions of the public have triggered some adjustments so keep up the good work.

We have been fortunate as far as snow storm clean up so far this winter. This has saved the Town on supplies and overtime. With apologies to the ski and snow mobile enthusiasts, I hope for continued good weather.

Be well and stay in touch.
