“Life begins at retirement.” ~Author Unknown

The Town of East Greenbush along with the East Greenbush Police Department would like to thank Detective Joseph DeSeve for 38 years of dedication and service.  This week Det. DeSeve hangs up his uniform one last time as he announces his retirement.

Detective DeSeve joined EGPD in May 1974.  Det. DeSeve has been deeply involved in our community, and we believe that he has been a positive influence for the youth of the community for years.  Det. DeSeve was appointed to Juvenile Officer in 1980.  In 1985, Det. DeSeve attended a training program in behavior modification and drug prevention which was implemented into the East Greenbush School District from 1985-1988.  He attended the first NYS sponsored D.A.R.E training program in 1989, which was then brought to the school where it continues today.

Det. DeSeve was appointed to Juvenile Detective in 1990, Detective in 1994 and in 2003 officially appointed to head of both the Detective and Juvenile Units with East Greenbush Police Department.  It is with utmost respect that we thank Detective DeSeve for his service with the Town.

The Community and Recreation Department is proud to announce that the 2012 Summer Camp exceed our expectations this year!  Attendance was above and beyond past years.  The department has received positive feedback responses from parents regarding the wonderful staff as well as the activities that were planned for the camp this year.  Kudos goes out to each and every staff member.

Daniela, Director of the Community and Recreation department is also proud to announce that they have over $100 for the scholarship program.  “This will allow a camper in need, a free week of camp next year!   This is something new that we’re trying out and we’re excited to be able to offer it next year.”

Along with the success of the first session of the Summer Camp, we would also like to announce another year of Music in the ParkMusic in the Park is located in Onderdonk Park, Hampton Ave across from Hampton Manor Lake from 6-8pm.  This year bands include:
