Spotlight On Youth

This program is presented by The East Greenbush Youth Commission and The East Greenbush Department for Youth Services and Recreation. It is co-sponsored by the Columbia Plaza Price Chopper.

Each year, we reach out to the community, to the schools, to everybody and ask you to help us identify our outstanding young citizens who have contributed to the quality of life in our community through a single act of kindness or multiple accomplishments throughout the year.  Nominees must be 11-18 years-old and live in the Town of East Greenbush.  Individuals cannot be nominated by a parent or guardian.

If you know someone who meets the above criteria, fill out the portion below and attach supporting testimony detailing your candidates accomplishment(s).

The East Greenbush Department for Youth Services and Recreation requests that all nominations be submitted on or before Friday, May 25th by 4:30 p.m.  All entrants will be honored at the annual “Spotlight On Youth” ceremony is scheduled for Friday, June 1st at 6:30 p.m. in the East Greenbush Town Hall Community Room.  Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony.

History of East Greenbush

The history of the Town of East Greenbush dates back to 1628 when historians believe the first settlers arrived in the area. Today, East Greenbush has retained its small-town roots, while also serving as an important suburb of the City of Albany and home to many retail, corporate, and manufacturing businesses.
