The Town of East Greenbush Comprehensive Zoning Law, latest revision June 11, 2008 was adopted to promote and effectuate the orderly physical development in the town in accordance with the Town’s Comprehensive Master Plan. The law addresses the use of property, whether residential, commercial or industrial, including but not limited to: buildings, additions, parking areas, driveways, signs, sheds, garages, swimming pools, decks, gazebos, and major landscaping. The ordinance is administered daily and enforced by the Department of Building and Development. All Interpretation questions, & Area Variances are handled by the Zoning Board of Appeals.

The five-member board generally meets twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall main court room or the Community Room (excluding holidays). The Proposed 2021 meeting dates are: January 12th & 26th, February 9th & 23rd, March 9th & 23rd, April 13th & 27th, May 11th & 25th, June 8th & 27th, July 13th & 27th, August 10th & 24th, September 14th & 28th, October 12th & 26th, November 9th & 23rd, December 14th & 28th.
