Purchasing Department

The East Greenbush Purchasing Department strives to procure the best products at the lowest responsible price in compliance with all applicable laws, policies and procedures of the Town and the state of New York. The Purchasing Department oversees all bids, quotes, and requests for proposals. We support open, unrestricted competition and welcome any suggestions or ideas that may improve the competition in our bids from vendors.

We are pleased to announce that the Town of East Greenbush joined Empire State Purchasing Group, a statewide bid notification system managed by BidNet, to post bid opportunities. BidNet provides the town a way for local government agencies across all regions of New York state an effective way to notify vendors of RFP and bid opportunities. The town not only increases efficiency using this process, but does so in a cost effective manner.

Vendor Registration

We hope that all local companies who are interested in bidding on projects will register with the Empire State Purchasing Group to receive all bids, quotes, amendments and award information the Town posts. As a vendor, you can register with the Empire State Purchasing Group and be sure that you see all available bids and opportunities. By selecting automatic bid notification, your company will receive emails once the Town of East Greenbush has a bid opportunity that matches your company's business.

Surplus Auctions

At times, the Department of Public Works or the Police department will have a need to sell surplus equipment that no longer suits the needs of the Town. Upon approval from the Town Board, surplus items are placed on Auctions International to be sold. If you are interested in any of the items, please be sure to watch their site to bid.
