From the Desk of Jack Conway - East Greenbush Town Supervisor

Supervisor’s Report – January 23, 2018

Last week we paid tribute to Sergeant Richard Edberg on the occasion of his retirement from the East Greenbush Police Department. Rich spent 32 years on the force and leaves with an excellent service record and the well wishes of all who worked with him. We wish Rich and Kim Edberg all the best in their new life in Wyoming.

Last week we also put the results of the UHY audit of the Town’s 2016 finances on the Town website. This is our second consecutive year of audited financials, which is a radical departure from past practice. The years 2010-2014 were considered un-auditable but we now have audits for 2015 and 2016. Once we have three years of audited financial statements we can request a credit rating from Moody’s Investors, Inc. The audit can be found at the link below.

I also published my 2017 Annual Report to the residents of East Greenbush last week. The report covers much of the business conducted by the Town in 2017; the text reflects the hard work and dedication of the Town Board, which had another strong year. My goal in writing the Annual Reports is to recognize my responsibility to report to the taxpayers who have entrusted us with their hard-earned tax dollars and deserve to know what has been done with their money. It also provides me with an opportunity to review our accomplishments and better understand what we can improve on and what needs to be done in 2018. The Annual Report can be found at the link below.
