East Greenbush Fire District #1 - Notice of Special Election
SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE FIRE DISTRICT NO. 1 OF THE TOWN OF EAST GREENBUSH: NOVEMBER 13th, 2018
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Fire District No. 1 of the Town of East Greenbush, are hereby holding a Special Election on November 13, 2018 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at Fire District No. 1 of the Town of East Greenbush firehouse located at 65 Sherwood Ave, Rensselaer, New York 12144 for the purpose of voting on a resolution passed by the Board of Fire Commissioners on October 4, 2018 to acquire one (1) vehicle to be used in the prevention and suppression of fire within the area protected by the Fire District No. 1 of the Town of East Greenbush at a cost not to exceed $1,045,080.17 by transferring a sum of money not to exceed $600,000 from their capital reserve fund subject to a permissive referendum pursuant to 6-g of the General Municipal Law and to enter into an Installment Purchase Contract pursuant to Section 109-b of the General Municipal Law in an amount not to exceed $445,080.17 with an interest rate not to exceed 4.28 % to be paid over 6 years for the purposes of acquiring said vehicles and authorizing the Fire District to exceed the statutory spending limit by the amount of the principle and interest payment on the lease purchase agreement for the term of agreement.
All voters registered with the Rensselaer County Board of Elections on or before October 21st, 2018, who are residents of the fire district for thirty (30) days preceding the election, shall be eligible to vote.
