Notice of Meeting
Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative Meeting
February 23rd, 2021 at 6:00 PM
Pursuant to Executive Order No. 203 issued by Governor Cuomo, each local government entity which has a police agency must perform a comprehensive review of current police force deployments, strategies, policies, procedures, and practices, and develop a plan for improvement to address the particular needs of the community, promote community engagement, foster trust, fairness, and legitimacy, and to address any racial bias and disproportionate policing of communities of color. The draft plan shall be offered for public comment and shall be presented to the Town Board to ratify or adopt no later than April 1, 2021.
In response to the Executive Order, the Town Board will convene a committee of community stakeholders to develop such plan. A meeting of the East Greenbush Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative will commence at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021 and shall be conducted through Zoom, a web-based video conferencing tool that will allow committee members to participate electronically and remotely. Please note, due to the COVID-19 pandemic this meeting will be conducted remotely and will not be held at Town Hall. The meeting will be live streamed for public viewing on the Town’s YouTube Channel.
East Greenbush residents are invited, and encouraged, to view the live stream of the meeting via the YouTube Channel. The public is also invited to submit relevant comments and are welcome to join the Zoom meeting at approximately 7:15 PM. Please be patient upon joining the meeting. Once admitted to the meeting you will be provided instructions on how to deliver your comments, and priority will be given to those who reside or conduct business in East Greenbush.
