Notice of Public Hearing - 12/12/2018

Pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Town Board of the Town of East Greenbush, the Town Board shall hold a public hearing on December 12, 2018 at 5:45 p.m., in the East Greenbush Town Hall, 225 Columbia Turnpike in the Town of East Greenbush, to receive comments from the public on the following:

Adoption of the Town’s 2018 Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) Plan Update in partial fulfillment of the Town’s responsibilities under the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Phase II requirements of the State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) General Permit GP-0-15-003 for stormwater discharges from MS4s.

The Town operates a small MS4 located in an urbanized area and is required to obtain SPDES permit coverage for stormwater discharges from its MS4. The permit allowing discharges requires the Town to develop a SWMP plan describing how pollutants in stormwater runoff will be controlled. The updated plan proposed for adoption includes a detailed written explanation of all management practices, activities and other techniques the Town has developed, planned, and implemented to address pollutants of concern and reduce pollutant discharges from their small MS4 to the maximum extent practicable. The plan was updated after an audit of the Town’s MS4 program by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which issued an order requiring that the Town update its SWMP plan. The updated plan proposed for adoption has been approved by EPA.

A copy of the SWMP Plan proposed for adoption may be reviewed at the Town Hall, during regular business hours, or on the website maintained by the Town of East Greenbush.
