Notice of Public Hearing-4/20/22-Proposed Local Law 2-2022
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that pursuant to the direction of the East Greenbush Town Board, the Town Board shall hold a public hearing on April 20, 2022, at 6:45 P.M., at the East Greenbush Town Hall located at 225 Columbia Turnpike in the Town of EastGreenbush, to receive comments from the public about a proposed local law as follows:
A local law prohibiting smoking and vaping in all Town facilities and on all Town properties.
The proposed local law would prohibit smoking in outdoor areas and in facilities owned and/or operated by the Town of East Greenbush. It specifically references the East Greenbush Town Hall, the garage and Department of Public Works, the Waste Water Treatment Plant, and all public parks owned and operated by the Town. In addition, it prohibits smoking in all pump stations operated by the Town. The local law prohibits smoking and vaping all devices and products which contain tobacco, cannabis, or any other matter or substance. A violation of the proposed local law could result in a fine OF up to $250.00 for a first offense, and up to $500.00 for a second offense.
