PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of East Greenbush shall conduct a Public Hearing on proposed Local Law No. 4 of the year 2018, titled A Local Law amending Article 236 of the East Greenbush Town Code, to authorize alternate methods to secure the completion of certain streets within the Town. The hearing will be held on June 13, 2018, at 5:45 p.m. at the East Greenbush Town Hall, 225 Columbia Turnpike in the Town of East Greenbush. At that time, public comment on the proposed Local Law will be received by the Town Board.

Presently, Section 36-26 of the East Greenbush Town Code requires an owner or developer seeking to gain approval of a project in the Town of East Greenbush to provide “cash escrow” as security to the Town for the cost of any proposed street improvements in the project, before appropriate building permits will be issued by the Town. The proposed local law would authorize the Planning Board and the Commissioner of Public Works to allow two alternative methods to secure the completion of the streets: requiring a performance bond in an amount to be set by the Planning Board, or, for smaller projects, a letter of credit, as authorized by the Planning Board.

Dated: June 29, 2018

Kim Carlock, Town Clerk
Town of East Greenbush
