The Town of East Greenbush in collaboration with the Melvin Roads American Legion and the East Greenbush VFW are busy planning the annual Memorial Day Parade. This year’s parade will take place on Saturday May 25, 2019 kicking off at 10 a.m. from the East Greenbush Bowling Center and proceed down Columbia Turnpike to the Melvin Roads Post. A short prayer service will take place at the Greenbush Cemetery recognizing a fallen comrade from the Second World War. Veterans are encouraged to participate. For those veterans unable to march the Capital District Transportation Authority, as well as, car dealerships in our area, have graciously offered transportation in their vehicles. Parade participants should assemble at the East Greenbush Bowling Center at 9 AM. At the parades conclusion there will be a small ceremony at the Melvin Roads Post, representatives from Town and County Government will offer brief words of encouragement to those present. Hot dogs and beverages will be provided. If your business, organization, or school group would like to march in this year’s parade please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
