Updated Storm Clean-Up & Brush Clean Up

**UPDATED INFORMATION**

The Department of Public Works has received a number of calls regarding storm debris pick up, we will be picking up storm debris, our primary concern has been assessing Town roads for any hazards - trees and brush that are within the lane of traffic. As we conclude that phase of clean up we will being cleaning up residential debris.

The Town is only picking up debris and brush on the side of the road. Residents are responsible for any trees and debris within your yard. If you have trees down in your yard, you may want to contact a contractor to assess and assist.

Some important information for residents as you begin your clean up:

  • Keep tree limbs, brush and trees out of the roadway. All debris should be placed at the edge of your property, off of the road for the safety of walkers and motorists.
  • We should be able to lift branches and parts of tree without the assistance of machinery.
  • Tree limbs should be smaller 12" round. If you have large trees you should contact a contractor to assist you in clean up efforts.
  • We cannot assist with your yard clean up. If the debris is not in the right of way, we are unable to remove it.
  • Please keep the ditch lines and catch basins clear of debris to prevent flooding and allow water to flow, especially with the pending forecast.
  • All residents can bring brush to the Transfer Station located at 246 Ridge Road, please show DPW Employees your identification if asked for proof of residency.

Our crews will be out for the next few weeks working on cleanup, pending any other emergencies, please be patient with us as we work our way through Town.
